Meet The Artist

Joe Goebel is an American artist living in Colorado. He began drawing and sculpting in clay at an early age and at 18 years old he earned a Fine Arts scholarship to the University of Southern Colorado. During that time, he changed his focus to commercial art and was accepted into The Colorado Institute of Art. Upon graduation he began his career as an illustrator/designer for several companies including Hallmark and NBC Studios. Within a few years he decided
to become a freelancer and established long-term client relations in the movie, manufacturing, and publishing industries. A partial list includes: Orion Pictures, New World Pictures, Disney, Kawasaki, General Motors, Petersen Publishing, Primedia, McMullen Publishing, and Hachette Filipacchi Medias. He has also
been a contributor to luxury art books for Rizzoli International Publications and Taschen Books and was commissioned to create limited-edition prints. One of his art prints caught the eye of comedian Jerry Seinfeld and appeared on the tv show “Seinfeld” from 1991 until the series ended in 1998. His work can be found
in private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad.
A Note from the Artist
In the creative world, authentic expression as an individual is what separates
one artist from another. I paint experiences and my own expressions of life,
from inside and outside of my studio. It's important for me to paint this way.
A history of work has more to do with an artist's longevity and productivity,
and less to do with an artist's intent or meaning. Those who know me encouraged me to include the obligatory resume in my biography because it lends credibility to our endeavors, but my career wasn't about achievement. To me, it was about communicating with art. I wasn't interested in awards or acceptance into societies, I was just grateful to be working with creative, meaningful people.
I've never taken a "selfie", I'm not comfortable with the concept.
Likewise, my work is not about me, it's about the everything that is beyond me,
because that is where my inspiration is found.
My intent is to communicate my inspiration in thanks and praise
for this existence we all share.
